Welcome To The YWCA Child Care Center at Booth

    Ages 6 weeks — 5 years

A great place to learn and grow.

Monday—Friday

7:00 AM—5:30 PM

 WHAT:

The YWCA Elmira & the Twin Tiers is committed to providing quality care for children from 6 weeks to 36 months. Our professional staff will provide a nurturing and individual experience for each child. The YWCA Child Care Center will maximize the care, comfort and learning that lead to a child’s healthy development.

The YWCA Child Care Center environment:

· Ensures safety

· Promotes health

· Provides comfort

· Maximizes flexibility

· Encourages movement

· Is child sized

· Allows for choice

· Is convenient for families

· Offers infants and toddlers a flexible daily schedule

The YWCA Child Care Program:

· Tailors daily care giving practices/curriculum, space, teaching strategies, furnishings, learning materials, guidance to the individual needs, interest, cultures and backgrounds of children enrolled in the program.

· Supports inclusion and resists bias with staff, children, families and the community.

· Observes and documents children’s developmental progress to shape individual and group planning that promotes healthy growth in all areas.

· Regularly evaluates the quality of care provided and makes improvements accordingly.

Develops and adheres to comprehensive, written, current program policies and procedures.

YWCA Child Care Center Benefits:

· Trained Professional Staff: 65% of our staff have secondary educational degrees.

· Availability: The YWCA provides sufficient staff so families will be assured your child can come to care each day rather than having to seek alternatives due to illness or vacations unlike many private child care programs. Your child will be able to remain in his/her same surroundings.

· Interactions: Your child will be with their peers and staff will be able to work with them at their appropriate developmental milestones.

· Direct Supervision: YWCA Child Care Center Director and Assistant Director are on site to provide direct supervision and observation ensuring the highest quality care for your child.

· Next Steps: The YWCA relocated its UPK and pre-school program to the same facility to allow parents more streamlined care for their children. Rather than coping with two locations, parents may have their pre-school children at one location.

· Upon reaching 36 months of age, children may transition into the next level of care seamlessly.

“One of the greatest needs facing working families today

is the concern for quality and consistent child-care”, stated                  Christine Duncan, CEO of the YWCA. All children should have the     right to quality pre-educational services. With this program, families will know that their children are receiving the highest quality care and pre-education at an affordable cost, allowing all children to be better prepared  for success in the years to come”, Duncan concluded.
