· Teen Scene Theater- The YWCA Teen Scene Theater is an exciting new dramatic arts program for students ages 14-20. All plays that are performed deal with social issues such as teen dating violence, loss, health issues, bullying and others important to today’s students. This is a peer leadership program with students being involved in all aspects of the performance.
· Safezones- Would you participate in a community based Safezones program that provides a safe and supportive environment for all youth and work on projects and activities to educate and support youth and the broader community about diversity including sexual orientation and gender identity?
· YWCA Youth Summit- The Bi-Annual YWCA Youth Summit was held on February 21st at the YWCA, 211 Lake St. The Youth Summit Call to Action Report should be available on line in the spring.
· From the Shadows, Stories from the Bullied, Bullies and Bystanders- The YWCA is looking to collect stories on bullying from all perspectives. The stories will be collected until June 2012. A number of these stories will be chosen for a book and some of them will be turned into monologues in an order to raise awareness and address the issue of bullying in our community.
